MAKE PLANS.
MAKE PRODUCTS.
MAKE MONEY.
Freedom for Youth’s new-look skills classes are now micro-businesses!
In these semester-long classes, two to five high school students will create a business, design products, and market and sell those products. Woodworking, gardening and fine art will be the three micro-businesses for 2022. In woodworking, students will design, build, market, and sell wood products. In gardening, students will plant, harvest, market, and sell produce at local farmers markets. In the fine art business, students will market and secure commissions to design and paint wall murals.
While operating these micro-businesses, students will learn important skills and make money, too!
Micro-businesses begin after school starting September 2022. Sessions are two hours per week and a meal is included. Micro-businesses will operate from the Freedom for Youth main campus, 2301 Hickman Road, Des Moines.
Transportation from school and home will be provided.
