Engaging Our
Community
Through Sports
The Community Sports Movement by Freedom for Youth helps students get active in their community through sports, at no cost to the athlete or the athlete’s family. Students grow in their faith, improve their academic performance, and gain valuable employment skills at Freedom. Athletically gifted students may also get connected to community sports organizations that offer opportunities to learn life skills through participating in youth sports.
How Does It Work?
Freedom identifies students who actively participate in Freedom for Youth programs and have the necessary physical talents and passion to pursue sports more intentionally.
Freedom works with students and their parents/guardians to identify the right opportunity for the athlete. (Note: Not all sports are available, and participation is limited by available funding.)
Parents and students apply by completing an application.
Freedom for Youth will work with parents/guardians to monitor and support the development of the youth in their sport.
Initial funding is available for registration and uniforms, and may also be available for tournament fees and off-season workouts. Freedom also works with sports organizations to provide free camps, clinics, and other opportunities to participate. The student and their family are responsible for transportation to/from practices and games/matches.
